FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How much does it cost?

It’s definitely a broad question, but in general, pricing can range from around $7 per square foot for sheet material to $25 or more per square foot for a full-service project.

What's the best way to ship my item?

The easiest and fastest way to ship smaller quantities of sheets or kits is rolled in a box. It’s important to unroll the material as soon as it’s received and allow it to relax by laying it flat. Shipping flat is also an option, but it’s typically reserved for larger quantities.

How long will it last?

When the correct application methods are used and the substrate is properly prepared, you can expect 5–7 years of performance even in the harshest environments. As the material approaches the end of its lifespan, you may notice some discoloration, surface chalking, or adhesive failure.

What if a peice needs to be replaced?

We keep all project details on file, allowing us to recut replacement pieces if needed. However, there may be a slight risk of color variation depending on the material’s age, color, and level of sun exposure.

Are certain colors better than others?

Colors are entirely up to you to achieve the look and feel you want; however, it’s important to keep in mind that different colors have different characteristics.

Red tones, for example, tend to fade slightly faster than other colors—even with the best UV protection, this is unavoidable.

Darker colors also absorb more heat in direct sunlight, which can make them feel warmer and may slightly reduce their lifespan due to increased expansion and contraction.

How does TopDek compare to others?

TopDek was founded with the goal of producing the highest-quality product on the market at a time when it was being flooded with low-quality knockoffs. To ensure complete control over quality, all manufacturing is done in-house, allowing us to oversee every detail and respond quickly to our customers’ needs.

We stand fully behind our product while maintaining competitive pricing and short lead times. There’s a reason we’re the only company in the market that openly publishes our specifications.

What is PSA and why is it important?

The pressure-sensitive adhesive backing is the backbone of the product. Without a high-quality adhesive paired with a stable, high-performance foam, it wouldn't meet requirements we set to acheive for our customers. We’ve done the R&D—let us show you our proven combination you can trust!

Why would I want a Brushed Texture or a Smooth Texture?

The brushed texture is always recommended when the product will be used as a walking surface, as it provides better slip resistance. For applications where slip resistance isn’t necessary, a smooth finish is then a suitable option.

Do you make custom colors?

Yes, custom colors are available; however, they are volume-dependent due to the cost of development. We can match Pantone or HEX colors if you’re looking to align with an existing color.

Do dark colors get hot in the sun?

It does warm up in the sun, but not to the point of being “hot”—nowhere near as much as a dark-colored vinyl seat would for example.
